Open and Edit PDF Files In Word 13

Want to edit a PDF (Portable Document Format) in Word, but unfortunately we can’t?

Well now with Word 2013, which is the first ever version of Word we are able to edit PDF files. No more plugins or third party applications are needed. In previous versions of Word such as 2007 and 2010 we were able to create PDF files through Word, but now we are able also to edit PDF files in Word.

In order to edit a PDF file in Word 13, we just follow the steps described below:

First of all we must open Word 13.

Then we must select the File tab in order to go to backstage view and then from the drop down menu we select the command Open as shown in the image below.

File - Open

Then we must locate where the PDF file is located. We can select the Browse command where a pop up dialog box appears named Open.

Browse

In this dialog box we must locate where the PDF file is, select it and then press the Open button at the bottom right corner of the window as shown in the image below.

Open PDF File

An informational dialog box appears notifying us that our PDF file will be converted into an editable Word document, and that it might take a while. If we agree we just press the Ok button and the procedure will start.

Informational Dialog Box

At the bottom right screen of Word 13 we notice the status bar that informs of the process of the file being converted as we can see in the image below.

Converting Process

The PDF file opens right in Word 13 ready for editing as we can see in the image below.
