Playback Options in PowerPoint 13 English
Posted by officesmart
In the previous post of mine, I mentioned the procedure on How To Insert Audio in a PowerPoint Presentation. In this post I will describe the features that are available on how to edit our sound clip by using the tab Audio Tools that is available.
The Audio Tools tab is available once we select the sound clip in our presentation as shown in the image below. The Audio Tools tab is divided into two categories the Format tab and the Playback tab. In this post I will describe the functions in the Playback tab.
At the left area of the ribbon we have the Preview area which only contains the Play button in order for our sound to be played. Once we have selected it, it turns into the Pause button.
Right next to the Preview area is the Bookmarks area, where we can Add a Bookmark at a certain time in the audio clip. Once a Bookmark is added the Remove Bookmark button activates, in order to remove it from the audio clip.
Right next to the Bookmarks area is the Editing area where we can do the following editing to our audio clip.
Trim Audio: We can trim the audio by specifying the start and end times of the audio clip.
Once the Trim Audio is selected the Trim Audio window appears as shown below, where we can trim the Start and End times and once done we press the OK button in order for the trimming to take place or the Cancel button. In the Trim Audio window we can always move to the Previous Frame, Next Frame of Play the audio.
In the Editing area of the ribbon we can also use the Fade In command so we can start the audio clip with a fade effect for a certain number of seconds. We can also use the Fade Out command to end the audio clip with a fade effect for a certain number of seconds.
In the Audio Options area we have the below commands:
Volume: We change the volume of the audio clip to Low, Medium, High and Mute it.
Start: We can set the audio clip to start On Click or to start Automatically by selecting the appropriate command from the drop down menu.
Play Across Slides: We can set the audio clip to play across the slides of the presentation.
Loop Until Stopped: We can set the audio clip to repeat until it is stopped.
Hide During Show: We can set the audio clip to hide it’s icon during the presentation.
Rewind After Playing: We can set the audio clip to rewind after it is done playing.
At the end of the Playback tab we have the Audio Styles area as shown in the image below with the two following commands: No Style, which reset’s the audio clips playback options and the command Play In Background which sets the audio clip to play continuously across our slides in the background.
Below you can check out the video describing the commands available in the Playback tab in PowerPoint 13.
