How To Configure Search Results in Outlook 13

In Outlook 13, we have the possibility to configure it, so it defaults search will be taken in the folders of our choice, along with other options that we can activate or deactivate in order for our Search to be more specific. In order to configure Outlook’s Search just read the steps below.

First, we must select the File tab in order to move to backstage view and then from the drop down menu that appears we select the Options category from the left as shown in the image below.

Once selected the Outlook Options window appears, where from the left we select the category Search as we can see in the image below.

Then under the Results area which is located in the middle of the window as shown above, we can do the following:

Here we can define where the Search will be taken. All we have to do under the area where it mentions Include Results Only From, we can activate one of the following:

  • Current Folder
  • Current Folder. Current Mailbox When Searching From The Index
  • Current Mailbox
  • All Mailboxes

We can also activate or deactivate the following commands:

  • Include Messages From The Deleted Folder Items Folder In Each Data File When Searching In All Items
  • When Possible, Display Results As The Query Is Typed
  • Improve Search Speed By Limiting The Numbers Of Results Shown
  • Highlight Search Terms In The Results
  • Highlight Color
  • Notify Me When Results Might Be Limited Because Search Indexing Is Not Complete

Whatever adjustments we do, once finished we just press the OK button in order to return to our mailbox.
