Add an Email Address to the Safe Senders List

Many times, we receive mail that are considered as Junk. Meaning that these E-Mail messages are moved automatically to the Junk Folder in order for our protection. What happens though when the E-Mail Messages that are moved to the Junk folder are not unwanted are safe and trusted. We just add these messages to the Safe Senders List in Outlook 13. This way these Senders will not be considered as Junk anymore and always be considered trusted. All we have to do is to follow the steps below:

On the Home tab we locate the area named Delete on the ribbon and then we select the arrow next to the command Junk as shown in the image below. Once selected the drop down menu appears where we can select one of the following commands:

  • Block Sender
  • Never Block Sender
  • Never Block Sender’s Domain (@example.com)
  • Never Block This Group Of Mailing List
  • Not Junk
  • Junk E-Mail Options

For this post, I select the command Junk E-Mail Options as shown in the image below.

Junk E-Mail Options

Once the command is selected, the Junk E-Mail Options window appears as shown in the image below, and then we must select the Safe Senders tab.

Junk E-Mail Options

On the Safe Senders tab we can see all the E-Mail addresses or domain names that we have added and that will never be treated as junk e-mail. In order to Add an address in the Safe Senders list we must press the Add button which is located at the right of the window. Once we press the Add button, the Add Address Or Domain window appears where we just type in the text box the address that we want and then press the OK button.

Add Address Or Domain

Straight away, the address that we typed in the Add Address Or Domain window is added in the Safe Senders List and it will no longer be treated as Junk E-Mail. In this dialog box, also we can select an address from the Safe Senders List and press the Edit button at the right in order to edit the address or we can select an address and the press the Remove button at the right in order for the address to be removed from the Safe Senders List.

Safe Senders

At the bottom right corner, we can also select the Import From File button in order to add addresses that we have from a text file. We can also select the Export To File button in order to export the addresses that we have in the Safe Senders list in order to have a backup from the addresses.

At the bottom of the window we can activate or deactivate the following commands:

  • Also Trust E-Mail From My Contacts: By activating this command whoever we have in our Contacts will be always treated as trusted.
  • Automatically Add People I E-Mail To The Safe Senders List: By activating this command, whoever we send E-Mail to, will be automatically added to the Safe Senders List.

Another way to open the Junk E-Mail Options window is to select the Junk E-Mail folder, and then to select the mail that is treated as junk. Once the mail is selected we do a right click on and from the shortcut menu that appears we select the command Junk from the bottom of the menu and from the other shortcut menu that appears we select the command Junk E-Mail Options as shown in the image below. Once selected we just follow the same procedure as described above.
