Outlook 13 Options For Contacts

Have you ever wanted to change the way you work with your Contacts in Outlook 13? Have you ever wanted to change the way the Display Name of our Contacts is shown? Just follow the steps below:

First, we must select the File tab in order to move to backstage view. Once in backstage view the drop down menu appears at the left, as shown in the image below where we must select the category Options.

Outlook Options

Once the category Options is selected the Outlook Options dialog appears as we can see below. In this dialog box, we select the category People from the left. The options that we will find here will let us decide how names are filed, whether to show an additional index or to even display online statuses and photographs.

Outlook Options - People

Once the category People is selected from the Outlook Options dialog box we are able To Change The Way We Work With People.

Under the area Names And Filing:

  • Default “Full Name” Order: We can select how the Full Name order will be displayed
  • Default “File As” Order:
  • Check For Duplicates When Saving New Contacts:

Under the area Contacts Index:

  • Show An Additional Index:

Under the area Online Status And Photographs:

  • Display Online Status Next To Name:
  • Show User Photographs When Available (Requires Restarting Outlook):
  • Show Only Names In The People Peek (Requires Restarting Outlook):

Whatever changes we make in the Outlook Options dialog box, we just press the OK button which is located at the bottom right corner of the window in order for our adjustments to take place.
