Navigation Options In Outlook 16

In Outlook we have the Navigation Pane in order to move around fast and easy. If we don’t use something such as Notes, we can easily remove it, if necessary. We can also change the order of the Outlook views if we want to. All we have to do is to follow the steps below:

At the bottom left corner of Outlook 2016, we notice the Navigation Area as shown in the image below. This area is combined from the following commands:

  • Mail: We can view our Mail
  • Calendar: We can view our Calendar
  • People: We can view all our Contacts
  • Notes: We can view our Notes
  • Tasks: We can view all our Tasks scheduled

Navigation Pane

In the following image, I have hovered over the Calendar icon, and straight away a preview of the current month appears, with the current date, where we see our scheduled appointments for the current day.

In the next image I have hovered over the People icon, and straight away the Search People Pane appears where we can type in the name of the Contact that we are searching for.

In the following image, I have hovered over the Tasks icon, and straight away the Task pane appears, with all the Tasks that I have yet to do.

In the next image, I have clicked on the Three Dots icon, and straight away a shortcut menu appears with the following commands:

  • Navigation Options
  • Folders: By selecting this command we have a preview of our Folders in Outlook 2016.
  • Shortcuts: By selecting this command we have a preview of our Shortcuts in Outlook 2016.

Navigation Options

In the image below I have selected the Navigation Options command, and immediately the Navigations Options window appears. In this window we can do the following:

  • Maximum Number of Visible Items: We can choose how many items we want to be visible,
  • Compact Navigation: We can choose whether the items to be in Compact View or Not.
  • Display In This Order: We can rearrange the order of the items to be displayed.

Navigation Options

Now, in Outlook 2016 it is very easy to navigate around from one place to another.

Below you can check out the video describing the Navigations Options that we have in Outlook 2016.
