Create a Bullet List in a Word Document
There comes a point when working in a Microsoft Word Document, when we want to organize our document by using different Lists. We are able to create and modify existing lists in the document. We can insert Bullet Lists, Number Lists and Multilevel Lists in Microsoft Word Documents. In this post I will describe how to create and modify Bullet Lists in a Microsoft Word Document.
In the image below, I have a list of days in the Word Document, where I want them to be created in a Bullet List.
First of all, we must select the words that we want to be created in a Bullet List and then from the Home tab, we must locate the area of the ribbon named Paragraph as shown in the image below.
Then from the Paragraph area of the ribbon, we select the top left icon named Bullets as shown in the image below. Once selected the Bullet Library appears, where we can select the sort of Bullet we want for our list.
All we have to do, is to select the Bullet that we want, and the Bullets will be inserted in our list as shown in the image below.
If we are not satisfied with the types of Bullets that are available in the Bullets Library, from the Bullets command and from the drop down menu that appears we select the command Define New Bullet as shown in the image below. Once the command is selected, the Define New Bullet window appears we have the following options to choose from:
Bullet Character area: We can define a new Bullet by selecting either Symbol or Picture. If we select the Symbol command, then we can modify it by selecting the Font command afterwards.
Alignment: We can select the alignment of the Bullet by either selecting Left, Centered and Right.
In the image below, I have selected the Symbol command from the Define New Bullet drop down menu. All we have to do, is to navigate in this dialog box until we find the desired Bullet, and then press the OK button in order for it to be inserted.
In the image below, I have selected the Pictures command from the Define New Bullet drop down menu. Once selected the Insert Pictures window appears, where we can select to insert a picture either From A File, Bing Image Search, Facebook and OneDrive, to be used as a Bullet.
In the image below, I had previously selected to Insert a New Symbol to be defined as a New Bullet, and then I have selected the Font button from the Define New Bullet window. In the Font window we are able to modify the Bullet that we have chosen, such as increasing the size and changing the color of it.
The procedure of creating a Bullet List in a Microsoft Word Document is a very simple procedure.
If we want to remove the Bullet List, all we have to do is to select the list and click on the Bullet List command.
If we press the Enter button, after each line of our Bullet List, a New Bullet will be inserted in our List automatically.
If we press the Enter button twice, at the end of the Bullet List, we will return to Normal Formatting.
In my next post I will describe how to Create a Number List in a Microsoft Word Document.
