The next move is that we locate the Move section of the Message tab as shown in the image below.

Move - Actions

Once we have located the Move section, we select the Actions command where from the drop down menu we select the command Recall This Message as shown in the image below. If we hover on top of the Recall This Message command, we are notified with the following:

Recall A Message That You Have Sent. Message Recall Can Delete Or Replace Copies Of This Message In Recipient Inboxes, If The Message Has Not Been Read.

Recall This Message

Once selected the Recall This Message dialog appears as shown in the image below. In this dialog box where are notified that Some Recipients May Have Already Read This Message.

Also that: Message Recall can delete or replace copies of this message in recipient inboxes, if they have not yet read this message.

Then we can choose from the following two options, which are:

  • Delete Unread Copies Of This Message
  • Delete Unread Copies And Replace With A New Message

Once we choose of the above options, we can also activate the check box at the left of the command:

Once we have made all the necessary adjustments, we just press the OK button at the bottom of the Recall This Message dialog box, and all actions will take place.

As mentioned above the conditions must be right in order for the Recall A Message command to be successful, and these conditions are the following:

  • The recipient must be using Outlook desktop also, and not Outlook Web App or a Mobile Version.
  • The original message must arrive in the Inbox of the recipients and not filtered or diverted by a rule.
  • The original message must be unread, and the recipient must open the Recall Notice before the Original Message.
