Design Ideas for Timelines in PowerPoint 365

In PowerPoint, when we write a Timeline, a Bulleted List of Processes or Steps on Slide, PowerPoint Designer appears straight away suggesting us a variety of Timeline Designs in order for us to use. The Designer realizes that it is dealing with a Time Process and responds by opening and showing us several graphical depictions for us to choose from. In order to find out more about how Design Ideas for Timelines works in PowerPoint 365 just continue reading.

In the image below, I have created a New Slide and from the placeholder in the middle of the Slide I selected the SmartArt Graphic command. Once selected, the Choose A SmartArt Graphic dialog box appears where from the left I select the category Process and then from the middle of the dialog box I select a Process Design that I want and finally press the Ok button, in order for the Timeline Process to be inserted in the Slide.

Another way to insert a SmartArt Graphic, is to select the Insert tab and from the area of the ribbon named Illustrations, we select the command SmartArt Graphic. Once again, the Choose A SmartArt Graphic dialog box appears, where we follow the same procedure as described above.

In the next image, I have selected the Design tab and from the area of the tab named SmartArt Styles I applied a different Style to my Slide in order for it to be more impressive. In the middle of the Slide, we can notice the Time Process that I have created for the posts’ purpose.

On the Design tab of the ribbon, at the far-right corner of the ribbon, we notice the area of the ribbon named Designer. All we need to do now in order to get ideas for our Time Process is to press the Design Ideas command, or just wait for a couple of seconds and the Design Ideas command will get activated automatically.

In the image below, the Design Ideas command has been activated, and immediately the Design Ideas task pane appears as shown. All we need to do in this task pane, is to scroll down so we can locate and select the appropriate Design Idea in order for it to represent our Time Process.
