Attachment Tools Tab in Outlook 365

Most of the times, we will see attached files under a Message in Outlook 365. When we are receiving pictures as attachments, we will see them in the Message Body. If we double click on an Attachment, we will open it according in which program it is associated. Once we open a Message that contains attachments and we select one of the attachments, the Attachment Tools tab appears as shown below. The Attachments tab is activated, and the ribbon is separated in the following areas, where each area contains the following commands.

  • Open: By selecting this command, we Open the selected Attachments in its own application. We should only open Attachments from a Trust-Worthy Source.
  • Quick Print: By selecting this command, we send the selected Attachment directly to the default printer, without making any changes.
  • Remove Attachment: By selecting this command we Remove the selected Attachment from the Message.

Actions Area

Save To Computer:

  • Save As: By selecting this command, we Save the selected Attachment on our computer.
  • Save All Attachments: By selecting this command, we Save all the Attachments included in this Message on our computer.

Save To Computer Area

Save To Cloud:

  • Upload: By selecting this command we upload the selected attachment.
  • Upload All Attachments: By selecting this command we upload the attachments included in this message.

Save To Cloud Area

Either we select Upload or Upload All Attachments, the drop-down menu will appear, where we are able to upload our attachments to our OneDrive account, either the business one or our personal one.

  • Select All: By selecting this command, we select all the attachments in the Message.
  • Copy: By selecting this command, we copy the selected attachment and put it in the Clipboard.

  • Show Message: By selecting this command we return to the Message, where we view the Message that contains the attachments.

In the image below, I am looking in a specific Folder in my Inbox. Once I have located a Mail with attachments, we can just hover over an attachment and do a right click with our mouse, where a shortcut menu appears. We can notice in this shortcut menu, some commands that are the same with the Attachments Tools tab and which are the following:

  • Preview
  • Open
  • Quick Print
  • Save As
  • Save All Attachments
  • Upload
  • Upload All Attachments
  • Remove Attachments
  • Copy
  • Select All
