Open Calendars from other Sources in Outlook 365
I have mentioned in previous posts of mine, how to Create New Calendar Groups and how to Save As New Calendar Group in Outlook. The reason for doing the above as mentioned is to see combined schedules, appointments, Birthdays, etc. at a glance, saving us precious time. Instead of Creating and Saving our Own Calendars, we can also Open Calendars From Others Sources which will be described below. So, just keep on reading.
Once we are transferred to our Calendar in Outlook 365, the Home tab is activated as shown in the image below. Then we must locate the Manage Calendars area of the ribbon to proceed, as we notice below.
From the Manage Calendars area, we select the command Open Calendar as shown below where the drop-down menu appears with the following commands:
-
From Address Book: We can add a Calendar from the Address Book.
-
From Room List: We can add a Calendar from the Room List.
-
From Internet: We can add a Calendar from the Internet.
-
Create New Blank Calendar: We can create a new blank Calendar.
-
Open Shared Calendar: We can open another’s person Shared Calendar.
In the image below, from the Manage Calendars area, I have selected the Open Calendar command and from the drop-down menu that appeared I selected the command From Address Book.
Once the From Address Book command is selected, the Select Name dialog box appears as shown in the image below. In this dialog box, we select the Names that we want to include in the Calendar. We make sure, that in the bottom area of the window, in the text pane next to the command Address we have the names included for us to open the Calendar.
In the image below, from the Manage Calendars area, I have selected the Open Calendar command and from the drop-down menu that appeared I selected the command From Room List.
Once the From Room List command is selected, the Select Name dialog box appears as shown in the image below. In this dialog box, we select the Rooms that we want to include in the Calendar. We make sure, that in the bottom area of the window, in the text pane next to the command Rooms we have the Rooms included for us to open the Calendar.
In the image below, from the Manage Calendars area, I have selected the Open Calendar command and from the drop-down menu that appeared I selected the command From Internet.
Once the command From Internet is selected, the New Internet Calendar Subscription window appears, where we must:
Enter The Location Of The Internet Calendar We Want To Add To Outlook
Once we have typed in the url, we press the Ok button, in order for the Calendar to appear.
In the image below, from the Manage Calendars area, I have selected the Open Calendar command and from the drop-down menu that appeared I selected the command Create New Blank Calendar.
Once the command, Create New Blank Calendar is selected, the Create New Folder window appears as shown below. Here we must type in a Name for our New Folder, select what the Folder Contains and then Select Where To Place The Folder. Once done, we press the Ok button and the New Blank Calendar is created.
In the image below, from the Manage Calendars area, I have selected the Open Calendar command and from the drop-down menu that appeared I selected the command Open Shared Calendar.
Once the command Open Shared Calendar is selected, the Open A Shared Calendar window appears, where we just type in the Name of the Calendar and then press the Ok button.
Keep in mind that any Calendar in the Navigation Pane can be viewed together with any group even if it is not a member of that Group. We can display or hide any Calendar by activating or deactivating the check box in the Navigation Pane or by clicking the Close button on the Calendars tab. By not displaying a Calendar, doesn’t mean that it is also removed.
