Tell Me What You Want in Microsoft Office 2016

A new feature has arrived in Microsoft Office 2016 which is called Tell Me. The Tell Me What You Want To Do feature, will guide us through the process of a task that we have and will offer us also other additional resources.

In the screenshot below, we can see the Tell Me What You Want To Do… feature in the following applications:

  • Microsoft Word 2016
  • Microsoft Excel 2016
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2016
  • Microsoft Outlook 2016

Microsoft Office 2016

All we have to do is to place our cursor in the text box of the Tell Me What You Want To Do, and start typing in the text field with our own words, what we want to do.

In the next image, in the Microsoft Word 2016 application, I placed the cursor in the area of the Tell Me What You Want To Do feature, and started typing in the keyword Save. Straight away a list of suggestions appear according to our keyword and all we have to do is to select the command that we want and we will be able to follow the steps.

In the next image, in the Microsoft Excel 2016 application, I placed the cursor in the area of the Tell Me What You Want To Do feature, and started typing in the keyword Formula. Straight away a list of suggestions appear according to our keyword and all we have to do is to select the command that we want and we will be able to follow the steps.

In the next image, in the Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 application, I placed the cursor in the area of the Tell Me What You Want To Do feature, and started typing in the keyword Slide. Straight away a list of suggestions appear according to our keyword and all we have to do is to select the command that we want and we will be able to follow the steps.

In the next image, in the Microsoft Outlook 2016 application, I placed the cursor in the area of the Tell Me What You Want To Do feature, and started typing in the keyword Insert Attachment. Straight away a list of suggestions appear according to our keyword and all we have to do is to select the command that we want and we will be able to follow the steps.

That is it!!! Tell Me What You Want To Do, is a very handy feature especially for users who are trying to get things done in Microsoft Office Programs. The Tell Me What You Want To Do feature is available in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio, and Access.
